COMIC CORNER: INVINCIBLE

INTRODUCTION:

You´re reading a new section in the blog, the comic corner, I am not a comic expert, actually I´m really far away from that. In fact, I´ve read Invincible: Volume 1 recently and I though that It´ll be great making a modest review of this comic. This review will have two sections, the first one without spoilers, and the second one with them. With that being said, lets get started.

FIRST PART:
I don´t know where, but I heard good things about Invincible, so that I decided to borrow a big volume which I saw in my neighbourhood´s library. Certainly the comics didn´t disappoint me, well, It has a very simple draw and designs in my opinion, and in the begining the comic doesn´t show to the reader different things, however, apart from that the comic is, at least, enjoyable, It is full of references to other comics, and I´m sure I didn´t get most of them, also there are references to "Peanuts" and "Stark Trek", in addition the comic contain some short parts in which the moke of himself as a comic, as a history, as a concept. The characters aren´t very charismatic, but they fell like true humans, becouse of their reactions and situations they are usually put into.

The narrative that the comic handle is different and special, despite being a action/superhero comic, the comic treat the fight sections quickly, without giving them importance, almost as if they were obligated to integrate them. But, this change radically when the fight itself is a moral problem for the characters which participate, when fights as themself provoque or are an evolution in the characters, the history stops, and take the proper time to develop correctly this segment, maybe you won´t see spectacular and long succession of panels, becouse the autor wants to focus on the characters. The important and significant fights are full of text, and that´s fine for me.

I´ll end with a little synopsis of the argument. The history follows the son of Omni-man, the most powerful hero in the world, who represent all the good moral qualities, The protagonist, Mark lives a normal live with normal problems, he isn´t special at all. Becouse of the puberty, Mark start to develop powers, obviously Mark decided to become a superhero, like his father. In one point the history start to get darker and darker, here is whre things start to be interesting, altough until this point everything was more or less predictable, in fact at the end of this volume I felt It´s worth spend time reading this comic, I highly recommend it to everyone, It doesn´t matter having reading comics or not.

SECOND PART:

This part will be much shorter than the previous one. becouse there isn´t much to say from here. The stroy of Omni-Man amazed me, but the best part of the comic is the fight between father and son, It was completely full of emotional charge, I felt the importance of every single hit, of every single dialogue... Although I said that It was the best part from my point of view, I believe the best scene occurs before, when the "protectors of the Earth" were brutally killed by Omni-Man, I clarely remember what I felt, It wasn´t only surprise, It was much more than that.

The relationships between the characters are unique and they feel real, and that´s something not every story can achieve. As a conclusion, I can say that I´m going to read second volume soon If I can, I´m sure It is going to be as good as the first.
